Of all the sites that I’ve snorkelled around Sydney, I’d say that this would probably be my favourite. The site is reasonably sheltered, and has lots of interesting sea life to see, and it is all available in fairly shallow waters, making it a great place for beginners to start at. Having said that, there is plenty on offer for more experienced snorkellers as well.
How to get there:
Bus: The best bus to take to Little Bay from the city is the L94 from the Elizabeth Street stop opposite Bathurst Street.
Car: Little Bay is between Maroubra and La Perouse. There is a new housing development there, and to access the beach you will need to take a path that crosses a golf course. To get there by car, head down Anzac Drive, and turn left on to Pine Avenue, parking near the end, or on Lister Avenue or Murra Murra Place. Take the track across the golf course and down to the beach.
